Union Station (Los Angeles, CA)

With these pieces, I focused very much on lights, shadows, and reflections. My objective was to accentuate the beauty of the station's architecture, but more importantly invoke in the viewer the different feelings of travel.

The first photograph, for example, represents the mystery of traveling; you are traveling to an experience as much as you are traveling to a location, and while you might know what your destination is, you can't possibly know what experiences you will have, who you will meet, or what you will learn. It's a wonderful, enchanting feeling, and one of the many things that has made travel a passion of mine. I have attempted to capture it in this photo by increasing the contrast of the photo, emphasizing the nebulous reflections scattered across the marble floor, and prolonging the exposure to blur the figures in view.

Of course, art is as subjective for the viewer as it is for the artist. Interpret the photos as you will.
